“We can sit in our corners mute forever while our sisters and ourselves are wasted, while our children are distorted and destroyed, while our earth is poisoned; we can sit in our safe corners mute as bottles, and we will still be no less afraid.” Audre Lorde

I am a writer, community organizer, and hospitality worker based in Chicago. I am the oldest of eight siblings born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in a low-income household. My younger siblings are foundational to who I am and my values. Despite facing many challenges, I graduated college with a BA in Communications and Media from Northeastern Illinois University, paying my way.

As a writer and media communicator, I view myself as a storyteller who believes in our collective ability to envision and create new realities by mobilizing people through narrative. I express my creativity through painting and fiction writing. I draw inspiration from the works of Octavia Butler, and my writing often explores themes related to social justice and equality.

In addition to my writing pursuits, I am a passionate community organizer and advocate for workers' rights within the hospitality industry. Through my activism and advocacy, I strive to raise awareness of the issues that affect workers of color in the industry and work toward meaningful change.

I am a writer and advocate whose work is informed by my lived experiences and commitment to social justice.

One of my core values is this: we hold the blueprint for a better future – we just have to start imagining it.

I also have a black cat named Gizmo, my constant companion and muse.
